Glossop Arts Project

Spring/Summer Party time * it’s Excellent* Club Night is back!

GAP secured an Action Grant from Derbyshire County Council to bring back Club Night. This was previously run by another organisation – but had to finish because of staffing difficulties. We were asked to bring it back and boy, did we!? We have run three now with the funding and now will run on the first Monday of the month with the view of it becoming self-sustaining. Club HQ in Glossop give us a great deal on the hire of the venue and Manager James is on hand for technical advice for our resident DJ Matt ‘Mazza’ Berry – who has a disability himself – but does not let that get in his way! Matt loves music and will play an eclectic mix of DISCO smooth rock and classic dance beats – with some of his own songs on the MC!!

He celebrated his 25th birthday in May playing ‘banging tunes’ on the decks!

Arts for Wellbeing continues to provide interesting and stimulating sessions three times a week to people with long term mental and physical health conditions – we are now being charged for the use of the Art room in Glossop so are fundraising even more this year! We have just started a term focusing on the ‘Five ways to Wellbeing’ and will be welcoming a guest speaker from TOG MIND to our groups in July.
